Langkawi Sky Bridge | longest free-floating suspension bridge in the world
The 125 meter long Skybridge in the extreme northwest of Malaysia on Lankawi is the longest free-floating suspension bridge in the world. This curving pedestrian cable-stayed bridge sits nearly 700m on Gunung Machinchang and was completed in 2005. The bridge is an architectural marvel. The curved bridge hangs from a single 82 meter high mast. The bridge is 1.80 meters wide.
One of Lankawi’s must-see attractions, the Langkawi SkyBridge is a huge hit with tourists and a highlight of their trip for many visitors. From the bridge you have a breathtaking view of the turquoise Andaman Sea and the island’s evergreen mountain ridges. The bridge is easily accessible by gondola – the Lankawi Cable Car.
