An important attraction in Amsterdam is the Moco Museum, which opened in 2016 and deals with modern and contemporary art. The Moco Museum joins the ranks of museums – Van Gogh Museum, the Stedelijk Museum and the Rijksmuseum – which are located on the Museumplein. The museum is dedicated to modern and contemporary art and exhibits works by the best and most famous modern artists in the world.
The museum only opened its doors in 2016. Since then, visitors from all over the world have been able to admire works by Banksy, Basquiat, Haring, Hirst, JR, Koons, Kusama, KAWS, Roy Lichtenstein, Salvador Dalí and many others. The Moco specializes in particular in special art collection, which includes unique street art works as well as modern and contemporary art.
One of the most famous attractions of the museum is the Banksy collection. It features several of the artist’s iconic works, including Laugh Now, Girl with Balloon and Flower Thrower. The often controversial work of the world’s most famous street artist is thought-provoking.
Current and ongoing exhibitions are also offered, with changing works and changing open-air exhibitions.
