The Grand Palace
One of the most important sights of Bangkok is the Grand Palace. It was the official Bangkok residence of the kings of Siam (present-day Thailand) from the late 18th century to the mid-20th century. It was only in 1946 after the death of King Ananda Mahidol (Rama VIII) that the palace was moved to the Chitralada Residence of Dusit Palace.
